Heavy Duty Poly-V / Serpentine belts are produced for heavy duty vehicles and buses. With multiple accessories (air conditioning, power steering pumps, alternators, water pumps, vacuum pumps, etc.) and operating conditions with temperatures up to 130° C/266° F have made it essential to upgrade the materials and construction technology.

Heavy Duty Poly-V / Serpentine belts are all made of EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomers) material and are compliant with the latest standards required by the automotive industry, guaranteeing resistance, reliability, low noise and a longer service life.

Water pumps are an integral part of many primary drive systems and the latest designs contribute to today’s low friction “Green” primary drive system requirements.

Heavy Duty Vibration Dampers

The vibration damper is a device that absorbs the vibrations generated by the driving shaft. It is widely used in motorcars to prevent any discomfort, damage and failure due to vibrations.

It usually serves as a guide pulley for Poly-V belts and to strengthen the auxiliary components (water pump, power steering, compressor, etc.).

The damper should be replaced when the rubber absorbing element is too worn to reduce the vibrations. It is recommended to check the damper rubber ring for rigidity (check that the rubber aging does not cause excessive hardening, crystallization or cracks).

In addition, many of Dayco heavy duty tensioners feature highly damped designs using a wave spring and a metal ring with a bonded polymeric surface to act as a radial shock absorber for the tensioner arm while reducing contamination.
