Dayco in Troy, MI is looking to hire a CAE Engineer.  This position supports application engineers with system level simulation to include multi-body dynamics simulations in Craktrain and Belt Drive Systems.  In addition, this position supports the CAE team to develop new engineering analysis tools.  The system simulation is used throughout Dayco locations around the world and to improve Dayco engineering competitiveness globally.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct system virtual test with CAE software to perform conventional accessory belt drive, start/stop belt drive, timing belt drive simulations ad cranktrain damper optimization
  • Collect data to build model and post process results to ensure needed information is gathered in a timely fashion
  • Represent Dayco to external customers regarding simulation methods and expertise
  • Support other Dayco departments or branches worldwide with system simulation service
  • Analyze results from test data on nose, vibration and harshness (NVH), using statistical data reduction techniques to predict product durability, reliability, and performance
  • Expand Dayco analysis ability by developing new analyses programming
  • Maintain an awareness of industry trends and technological advancements in virtual test and simulation methods, and analysis
  • Maintain an awareness of the advancement of Information Technology and integrate it into engineering to enhance efficiency
  • Evaluate system acceptability and ensure integrity of the system design
  • Mentor less experience engineers with simulation and programming skills
  • Lead activity related to global coordination of analysis software upgrades ensuring consistency of analysis and reporting methods



Multi-disciplinary Mechanical Engineering background and bachelors degree.  Specifically, extended experience with applied mathematics fields of Iterative Method and Numerical Analysis and mechanical vibrations

Experience with Dynamic Simulation in Powertrain

Experience with linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in similar role

Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
