Dayco has an exciting job opportunity for you to work as an Aftermarket Sales Representative in the Indianapolis, Indiana territory.  Dayco is a global leader in the research, design, manufacturing, and distribution of essential engine products, drive systems and services for automobiles, trucks, construction, agriculture, and industry.  We’re looking for someone to support the sales department with growing out the territory and increasing Dayco’s presence in the market place.

As an Aftermarket Sales Representative you will perform outside sales activities toward the achievement of established sales goals. You’ll be responsible for business development, customer satisfaction, achievement of sales targets and successful execution of the revenue growth strategy for the assigned territory.

Your additional responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting annual regional sales, margin, and expense objectives
  • Leading generation, qualification and account management through data mining to achieve annual regional sales, margin, and expense objectives
  • Executing aftermarket strategy with key distribution partners to include: Alliance, A.D.N., Federated, APA, Pronto, and The Group members
  • Identifying, targeting, and implementing strategies to secure new customers and place new product into existing customers
  • Utilizing promotions, campaigns, trade shows and business contacts to seek out prospective accounts, introduce company and product, establishes and cultivates a contact, and analyze prospect’s needs
  • Preparing quotations and proposals; following up and negotiating terms; closing transactions
  • Organizing and conducting training sessions for customers; surveying market and competitive conditions; completing itineraries, expense, sales calls, leads and other related reports
  • Operating with entrepreneurial mindset seeking efficiency and effectiveness in business development, account ownership, delivering sales results and winning customer satisfaction
  • Working with Finance, Marketing, Logistics, and Sales personnel to ensure both customer and company objectives are met and to keep up to date on the status of current aftermarket sales transactions.
  • Providing competitive feedback to product teams on products, pricing, and promotions
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time

Required Qualifications of the Aftermarket Sales Representative:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience required
  • 5 plus years of experience with automotive aftermarket sales
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fundamental understanding and experience in business to business sales and marketing
  • Self-starter with a never give up attitude
  • Must be willing and capable of working in an independent environment with little or no guidance
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Individual must have excellent selling, writing, verbal presentation, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong skills in negotiation
  • Ability to influence and be persuasive
  • Ability to use strong competitive drive and determination
  • Must understand basic business principles to include: sales, margin, profit, return on investment, inventory turns and control
  • Ability to plan, develop and deliver technical presentations
