To provide technical guidance and support to the Springdale Manufacturing Plant to achieve Process and Product objectives. To ensure that the “best” practices are utilized thus producing the highest quality, lowest cost product, and employing the safest methods.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance to the various departments within the plant in the areas of analytical trouble shooting, process improvements, cost improvements, equipment upgrades or installations, capability studies, customer documentation, and communication.
Generate / Assemble PPAP documentation and submit to customers.
Assist in the education and training of plant personnel on processes, equipment operation, tensioner assembly, computer equipment, and process management tools.
Input in the development of products via the APQP procedure, by determining process specifications, recommending equipment needed for the product and determining in-process controls required to satisfy the customers’ expectations.
Provide in depth support in the area of Process Engineering, equipment knowledge, tooling design, knowledge of the product and its design, manufacturing practices, environmental and OSHA requirements.
Give direction to quality, production and engineering personnel concerning new or revised projects and processes.
Also provides direction to quality, production and engineering personnel when involved in trouble shooting and process optimization.
Serve on project or permanent teams as required.
The Quality Process Engineer must complete and comply with any relevant customer specific requirements.
This position has the authority to stop the process at any time in order to investigate a product, process, Environmental Management, or Quality System nonconformance or to prevent suspect product from further processing. In addition, they are authorized to initiate action to prevent occurrence of nonconformances, identify and record problems, recommend solutions to nonconformances found within their control and to verify the implementation of solutions. Lastly, this position has the authority to represent the needs of the customer in internal functions addressing IATF 16949 requirements that are within their control.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Field of Study/Technical Certifications: Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Minimum # of Years of Experience: 1 year
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Daily contact with immediate supervisor (Quality Assurance Manager) to communicate progress of projects and status of plant issues. Daily, in depth contact with production supervisors, maintenance personnel, engineering supervisor, and technicians to assess needs and priorities. Frequent contact with equipment engineers, designers, and Product Design Engineers. Contact with Customer Engineering and Quality Personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
A clean factory environment with cooled temperatures during warm weather months and heated working conditions during cold weather months.
Lifting up to 45 pounds could be possible.
