Position take part to the design and development of new products. Incumbent applies engineering principles within team environments to create competitive products.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Design new engineering products and processes
- Craft models and drawings of products using CAD
- Analyze prototype data and retest if needed
- Research new product ideas and methods
- Improve existing products and processes
- Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure products are user- and environment-friendly
- Write detailed reports
- Find creative design solutions to problems
- Present prototypes and designs to customers and project managers
- Support of quality department at the plant and/or supplier
- Support of production at the plant
- Support of purchasing at the plant
- Customer RFQ support
The Position will provide support in the following activities:
- Create and maintain “gold standard” portfolio of designs
- Definition of quality chain for portfolio products (DFMEA)
- Problem solving of difficult or deep-rooted issues
- Global coordination of testing and establishment of standards
- Global coordination of simulation and establishment of standards
- Technology road map creation and maintenance
- Innovation of products
- First commercial application of innovative product
- Assessment and training of global staff
- System engineering tool development
Essential Qualifications and experience
Master’s degree – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent title
Deep knowledge of powertrain for hybrid vehicles
Minimum 5 years of previous experience in similar role
Team working
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
Knowledge of PTC – Creo or equivalent design software
