This position is part of the engineering group. He applies engineering principles within team environments to create competitive products.


The Product Engineer is accountable for the design, development of rigid components to meet customer requirement. Frequent, clear and credible communication is necessary throughout these projects to efficiently coordinate efforts and appropriately inform other team members.

The Product Engineer is also accountable for the analysis of component, test the products to make sure they meet all specifications, ensure manufacturability, an avoid harsh operating conditions in the field. The incumbent develops and specifies test procedures and provides guidance to test technicians to ensure that test data meets the standard requirements and deadlines.

The incumbent supports the team defining with the Lead Engineer product design standards from conceptual sketch to production ready status.


Principal Responsibilities:

Line up and sign off on designs (quote, proto build and production tool)

  • Sign off on production tooling design
  • System engineering application optimization
  • Execution of VA/VE projects
  • Product application design for specific customer application
  • BOM creation and support of individual program
  • APQP engineering deliverable execution for individual program
  • Support of quality department at the plant and/or supplier
  • Support of production at the plant
  • Support of purchasing at the plant
  • Customer RFQ support
  • Quality problem solving for engineering issues
  • Design change implementation and tracking


The Position will provide support in the following activities:

  • Create and maintain “gold standard” portfolio of designs
  • Definition of quality chain for portfolio products (DFMEA)
  • Problem solving of difficult or deep rooted issues
  • Global coordination of testing and establishment of standards
  • Global coordination of simulation and establishment of standards
  • Technology road map creation and maintenance
  • Innovation of products
  • First commercial application of innovative product
  • Assessment and training of global staff
  • System engineering tool development
  • Prototype creation
  • Application testing


Essential Qualifications and experience

  • Mechanical or automotive engineering master degree are highly recommended
  • Minimum 2/3 years of previous experience in similar role


Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of NVH and vibration engineering is preferable
  • Thermodynamics and powertrain knowledge are preferable
  • Deep knowledge in Cad systems (PRO-E preferred)
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office package
  • Fluent English
