To provide technical guidance and support to the Springdale Manufacturing Plant to achieve overall plant goals. To ensure that the “best” practices are utilized thus producing the highest quality, lowest cost product, and employing the safest methods.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance to the various departments within the plant in the areas of analytical trouble shooting, process improvements, cost improvements, equipment upgrades or installations, capability studies, customer documentation, and communication.
Assist in the education and training of plant personnel on processes, equipment operation, assembly, computer equipment, and process management tools.
Contribute to the preparation of department budget and manage effectively to achieve plant goals within the budget limits.
Recommend, plan, and manage capital and maintenance projects to improve safety, quality, production, and costs.
Input in the development of new products via the APQP Process, by determining process specifications, recommending equipment needed for the new product and determining in-process controls required to satisfy customer expectations. (i.e. process FMEA, Process Flow Diagram, and Control Plan).
Provide in depth support in the area of Manufacturing, equipment knowledge, tooling design, knowledge of the product and its design, manufacturing and machining practices, CNC programming, pneumatic and hydraulic system design, significant trouble shooting skills, environmental and OSHA requirements.
This position has the authority to stop their process at any time in order to investigate a product, process, Environmental Management, or Quality System nonconformances or to prevent suspect product from further processing. In addition, they are authorized to initiate action to prevent occurrence of nonconformances, identify and record problems, recommend solutions to nonconformances found within their control and to verify the implementation of solutions. Lastly, this position has the authority to represent the needs of the customer in internal functions addressing IATF 16949 requirements that are within their control.
Serve on a project or permanent teams as required to address special issues or problems.
The Manufacturing Engineer must complete and comply with any relevant customer specific requirements.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Educational Experience: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum # of Years of Experience: 3 years
Required Technical Skills: Trouble shooting, process and product analysis, contractor management
