EHS/Safety Manager

• Manage the maintenance team to ensure machines, equipment and entire facility are all in proper and safe working order
• Address all safety issues pertaining to equipment and/or the facility in a timely manner
• Ensure proper equipment is being used for each operation
• Prepare CapEx as needed for repairs and new equipment
• Ensure that staff verifies the machinery before start-up of each shift
• Control expenses for repaired and new parts/equipment
• Manage the schedules for preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for all equipment
• Implementation/installation of new machinery/equipment to improve efficiencies and safety
• Participate in problem solving teams with staff and management as necessary
• Implementation of programs to reduce down-time due to non-functioning equipment and/or machinery
• Provide proper training and instructions for maintenance associates and to additional employees as needed
• Analysis and repair of recurring failures
• Respond to any contingency due to hazardous substances in the area
• Participate in responses to customer complaints (as required)
• Comply with all safety, quality and environment standards and procedures
• Responsible for emergency preparedness procedures, regular fire drills, and emergency response
• Manage the industrial waste, hazardous waste and recycling programs
• Coordinate existing certifications and plan, develop and implement new certification programs
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses and provide recommendations to reduce or eliminate hazards
• Researches, develops and implements safety and accident prevention policies in compliance with local, state, federal and company rules and regulations
• Identifies needs and advises management on the development and implementation of effective programs and activities
• Conducts post-accident investigation and/or assessments
• Recommends corrective or preventative measures regarding safety matters
• Gathers and communicates pertinent safety information
• Conducts training needs analysis with management and/or safety teams of insured policyholders
• Represent company in community and industry safety groups, programs and conferences
• Keeps abreast of current developments of training, safety and accident prevention programs
• Experience handling OSHA regulations and inspections
